Smiling Navarathri

19th October 2007; 6.00a.m – 9.30a.m.

Navarathri is one of the holy days which Hindus follows continuously for nine days by fasting in the belief of getting braveness, prosperity and skills. Since most of our Leos are Hindus religiously we planned to celebrate by helping a small school by sponsoring the event.

The club gathered the information and decided sponsor special Pooja and cultural event for this Navarathri at Ratmalane Hindu College. On the early morning students prepared Pongal. Then some of members prepared special foods to dedicate to god which believed in the form of energy.

Special Pooja started on 7am, Leos, Teachers and hundreds of students gathered. Special Pooja is done by a holy priest and the Prasatham (special foods) is dedicated to god.
